It's Raining men, Hallelujah, it's raining men

In a gloomy mood, I reached for a colour I normally wouldn't go for. Don't get me wrong, this gunmetal colour is gorgeous and metallics are one of my favourite finishes, but the thing about metallics is that they leave brush strokes on the nail. One amazing tip I saw on Marginailia's Medieval Stained Glass nail tutorial was to sponge on a layer of the polish to eliminate the stroke marks.
Now here's where my mood came in. I initially wanted to do a sad, raining design, but I heard The Weather Girl's "It's Raining Men" on the radio and so this design was born. I also did an accent nail with some loose, grey glitter which has some bigger, multi-coloured flakes of glitter. I love how it shifts from red to green, depending on which angle the light hits it. Plus, it's square!

Colours Used:
-A metallic grey Essie colour
- Grey Glitter
- Grey Acrylic Paint(different shade from rest of the grey)
- Black Acrylic Paint
- White Acrylic Paint
-Red Acrylic Paint
-Light Blue Acrylic Paint

Step-By-Step Instructions

  1. Start with an metallic grey base.
  2. Paint the outline of the desired design.
  3. Fill in with the appropriate colours.
  4. Outline the design with black so that it pops.
  5. Fix up where necessary and the design is finished.
